Prolific experimenter Heinz Lilienthal was a pioneer in the creative use of metal, concrete, natural stone and wood. The round table top is covered in heavy aluminum sheeting that is acid-etched with partial relief to the overall circular design.
Heinz Lilienthal was also know for one of the German glass painters who pioneered church building in the post-war years. In addition, he designed wall decorations in metal, wood and concrete, furnished ships for the Greek shipowners Aristotle Onassis and Stavros Niarchos, and finally became a successful designer of table furniture.
